Rightrax DL2
In data logger mode the DL2 instrument is simply connected to a Rightrax M2 sensor, a multielement, flexible, self-adhesive film with ultrasonic sensors that is permanently bonded to the structure or pipe which wall thickness is to be measured. After the M2 sensors are fitted there is no need to remove lagging, erect scaffolding and excavate pipelines or shut down plant during subsequent inspections. The DL 2 simply interrogates the sensor when required and records the thickness measurement results. Remaining wall thickness is calculated by means of automated signal processing of the A-scan.
In flaw detector mode the DL2 offers all the proved functions and advantages of the field proven USM 35 flaw detector. It is easy to use and doesn’t have multi-level menus, but only five keys to move through the operation menu and four more keys to select such function as material velocity or range. The DL2 instrument also has two familiar rotary knobs “spin and set” for rapid setting of gain and function parameters.
Instrument features (Data Logging Mode):
- Direct thickness values reading (mm or inches) using the M2 sensor
- Interrogation of up to 10 sensors by means of connection via multiplexer
- There is no need in NDT specialists during operation
- Stores data including A-scans from up to 100 M2 sensors
- Downloads data to PC for further analysis using WINHOSTP and CMDA software.
Instrument features (Flaw Detection Mode):
- Users can carry out conventional wall thickness measurements using standard ultrasonic probes
- The instrument can be used for conventional inspection of welds using standard GE probes
- The high contrast color display with enhanced brightness when using angle beam probes for weld inspection, the color of the signal changes with every reflection of the sound beam from the test piece surface
- Signal amplitude in each gate, sound path or sound path difference can be displayed in the corner of the A-scan
- New function of DAC/DGS evaluation with digitization of equivalent reflector size for increased accuracy
- Color display to highlight messages and alarms, the color can be changed to suit ambient light conditions
- Selected data can be transferred to a printer or remote PC via standard VGA output.
