10.04.13New Improved USN60 / USN60L!
We are pleased to announce that every USN60 and USN 60L (except Rack Mount version) shipping out of Lewistown, PA is now the redesigned version with new display. Instruments shipping from other locations around the world may still have the older display until stocks are fully depleted.
As a reminder, benefits of this redesign are:
- The new display provides exceptional ability to view in direct sunlight
- Lower power consumption resulting in longer battery life (11 hours)
- Ability to operate at lower temperature (-20°C / -4°F)
- Increased reliability of the instrument with fewer boards & fewer parts.
USN60 and USN60L part numbers remain the same.
The Rack Mount version (USN60 RM) will keep the old display and old main board for a few more months until we get some additional certifications specific to this version.
Please note that the phased-out versions with the non-VGA will be replaced by USN60 and USN60L instruments with VGA output in a few weeks!
The USN60 is still held in very high regard in the NDT industry, and now it’s better than ever!
The USN60L takes the place of the popular USN58L.
08.04.13NDT-Russia — summary
On the 26-28th March was the 12th International Specialised Exhibition for NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING AND TECHNICAL DIAGNOSTICS - NDT Russia, which took place in Moscow, SC "Olimpiyskiy". Traditionally the visitors could see the standard equipment line of GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies. However this time special attention could be paid to new technical solutions that have been recently designed by the company-producer, among which is the RotoArray probe for ultrasonic phased array flaw detectors. The RotoArray is a portable, manually operated, phased array, ultrasonic inspection device which can be connected to any suitable phased array flaw detection instrument to allow rapid scanning of a wide variety of materials and components. Well suited for scanning composite and aluminum aerospace components, the RotoArray can provide A,B, & C-scan images that are achieved with the simplicity of a handheld probe and with performance rivaling that of a full immersion C-scan system.
08.04.13Phasec Obsolete!
Dear Customers! As of April 2, 2013 we can no longer accept orders on the above Phasec instruments or kits. The producer GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies has undertaken a development effort to replace the Phasec product family. However, the lack of available parts has forced the producer to stop production of Phasec before replacement unit becomes available. One reason for stop of production is to insure a supply of replacement parts for Phasec repair under warranty. The newly anticipated product, called Mentor EM, will be available for sale mid-summer 2013. Please be assured that all orders in house will be honored and all warranties remain in effect. Sorry for your inconvenience!

30.03.11“NDT Russia» — 2011”
Special interest of visitors was attracted by ultrasonic thickness gauge DMS-Go – the latest solution with high-end design. The thickness gauge DMS Go has a part of DMS 2 (Krautkramer) features, whereas, having small size and weight, allows the operator to work in hard conditions using one hand only! Simple navigation in Russian menu, and also operator friendly color graphic interface allows to improve the overall testing productivity. Among the advantages of design we could mention joystick, by which the operator makes settings and controls testing parameters. Color display with high resolution allows viewing of full A-scan. Hard protected casing (IP 67) is provided for work in hardest conditions. The thickness gauge is equipped with USB-port for data transfer and also 2Gb memory card (standard set). The spheres of application of thickness gauge DMS Go include, besides standard applications, measurement of wall thickness on testing object. The thickness gauge DMS Go can be upgraded to a flaw detector by the user, for this the latter needs to acquire the necessary software and load it into the gauge by means of SD-card.
High evaluation on the part of visitors was also given to phased array flaw-detector – thickness gauge Phasor XS CV/DM for spot corrosion detection. Among the advantages of Phasor XS CV/DM we should point out the following:
- multi-element probe for corrosion detection, providing continuous line scanning and excellent resolution in subsurface area;
- specially developed software, allowing to achieve maximum productivity of testing in phased array mode;
- excellent casing features: protection class IP 65, weight lower than 4,4 kg, battery with long service life and possibility for charging inside the instrument.
